Qualifying Underway for Catoosa County State Senate Seat (Updated)

 Do you or someone you know want to represent Catoosa County in the Georgia State Senate? Qualifying for candidates continues through Monday, February 2. The fee is $400. 

 

Qualifying is underway: Thursday, January 29 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Friday, January 30 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Monday, February 2 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Qualifying for the Georgia Senate District 53 special election will be held at the Office of Georgia Secretary of State’s Elections Division, 2 MLK Jr. Dr., Floyd West Tower Suite 802, Atlanta, GA 30334.

The Georgia State Senate District 53 seat represents Catoosa, Chattooga, Dade, portions of Floyd, and Walker counties. The current State Senator, Colton Moore, left his seat to run for the U.S. House of Representatives District 14 seat vacated by Marjorie Taylor Greene.

The special election to fill the Georgia State Senate District 53 seat is Tuesday, March 10, 2026. Early voting begins Monday, February 16, and the last day to register to vote and change your name/address for this special election is Monday, February 9.  The special election to fill the U.S. House of Representatives District 14 seat is also March 10.
