Commissioner Jeff Long has been serving on the Board of Commissioners since 2011. He has worked in city and county government for 22 years managing public works and recreation. Commissioner Long served as a volunteer fireman for over 20 years in Walker and Catoosa Counties. Currently he is employed with Walker County Government as Road Superintendant.

Commissioner Long has been married to Sue Brown Long for the past 15 years. Mrs. Long is the Executive Director of Fort Oglethorpe Housing Authority for the past 19 years; they have two grown children and 4 grandchildren.

Commissioner Long attended Rossville High School and has attending training through the University of Georgia Carl Vinson Institute of Government where he has completed his state and national Public Works Association certifications.
